MedCity Community Lactation Center provides lactation and breastfeeding medicine consultations to families in the southeast Minnesota region. Our mission is to offer high-quality, evidence-based, and compassionate care to help your family achieve your feeding goals. We are part of a community of perinatal care providers in the area and are committed to collaborating with your team to ensure you receive comprehensive care.
Why MedCity?
At MedCity, you will work directly with an International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC). This is the highest level of training in the lactation field, which ensures you have the best care possible. We also have a board-certified pediatrician on staff who specializes in breastfeeding medicine. She has 15 years of experience in general pediatrics, as well as her IBCLC certification. Having a physician on staff allows us to offer visits for more complex lactation issues or cases that require medication management. Each baby and family is unique in their needs and desires. MedCity is committed to provide the highest quality care to serve those needs.
About Leslie Morris Kummer, MD, MPH, IBCLC

Leslie Morris Kummer is a pediatrician and lactation medicine specialist with a deep passion for supporting breastfeeding families. After completing her medical training and residency, her own breastfeeding challenges inspired her to pursue additional training specialize in breastfeeding medicine. Dr. Leslie completed her IBCLC in 2023. She has authored several papers on breastfeeding outcomes and been involved in medical student and resident education. She has worked as a primary care pediatrician in the Twin Cities and at Mayo Clinic. She currently serves as a volunteer Assistant Medical Director for the Minnesota Milk Bank for Babies. Dr. Leslie is a mother of two boys and enjoys traveling and throwing pottery on a wheel.
About Molly Mustafa, BSN, RN, IBCLC

Molly Mustafa is a lactation consultant and a registered nurse. She also has a bachelors degree in nutrition. Molly has worked as an inpatient nurse both in a general medical unit for adults, as well as in the NICU providing care to babies and families. After a difficult breastfeeding journey with her oldest child and while working in the NICU, Molly decided to pursue her passion of becoming an IBCLC. In 2020, Molly received her IBCLC certification. In 2022, Molly transitioned from hospital based care to private practice. She opened MedCity Lactation and Feeding Services and started providing home based lactation care to families in southeastern Minnesota. Recognizing a growing need for enhanced lactation care within the Rochester community, Molly and Leslie have partnered to establish the MedCity Community Lactation Center.
